Pronouns that are used for emphasis or to intensity. Examples are myself, himself, themselves, etc. These are also known as intensive pronouns. While they look identical to reflexive pronouns, they do not have the same function. Reflexive pronouns are grammatically necessary in their sentences, while emphatic/intensive pronouns are not grammatically necessary.
